It's Offical - We're Made in America!

I had blogged about ABC's Made in America segment in an earlier post .  Now I am proud to say that we have been added to their list of "Made in America" Companies.

Made in America Products

So a few of my friends make fun of me for my "green" and "USA made" mind I have.  For me, it is my lively hood - my work.  I have found that American vendors, who we work with, in the past couple of years are slowing shutting down without any warning at all.  I need hard working Americans like yourself to buy clothes from our hard working American Factory ...otherwise I guess I will be out of a job and in the fields working with my Dad on the farm.  I am not joking.

One American made factory I would love to feature is: Tervis Tumblers.  I use these cups everyday and they are proudly made in Venice, FL.  Not only do they keep your drinks hot or cold, but they are virtually indestructible and they are the perfect travel cup!   When we got married a couple of years ago, this was one of our gifts to our wedding party, personalized cups.  See in the picture below

This is really interesting - do a scan of your house...how many things in your house are actually Made in America??

Dillards - Hop into Spring 2011

Are you absolutely digging our Spring 2011 Fashion line??  That's what I thought...you can get some of our latest fashions at Dillards Department stores.  If you are like me, Dillards is a bit up the road ... please check out the convenience of online shopping at http://www.dillards.com/   You can either search "Laura Dare" or go to the children's section under "Sleepwear" or "Tutu Cute" to find any of our Spring fashions.

I recently did a field trip to our local Dillards in Houston and was pleasantly surprised to see a great center display of our tutu's in the middle of the children's wear.   I should have taken the picture after I rearranged and prettied up the display..oh well.. note to self :)

Gnome-Napped!!

Ok - so here at the factory, sometimes you have to rob from Peter to pay Paul when you are short handed.  I feel that my department gets picked on the most ... maybe it's not true... in fact it probably isn't true but I have a right to my feelings. :)

So, on those days that I may be missing my sample hand or my labor coster, I have brought up my garden gnome to make me feel that I am not short handed (and it just makes you smile)...I would place him in the sample department cutting fabric or at a sewing machine.  He has sat a computer to make some markers (all of the sizes of each given pattern piece in a group are arranged into a marker, that is printed. The marker is then laid on top of the layers of fabric and cut...see pic below) but now he has been gnome-napped!

The gnome-napper left a ransom note on my key board while I was out of my office...sneaky.   The ransom - 1 dozen donuts...are these regular glazed donuts? Chocolate covered? with sprinkles?  So many choices, I may just up my ante and bring a dozen and half of Prasek's pig in the blankets...that should suffice. Right?

Only time will tell after I make the drop this week.  I will keep you informed.
